Congratulations to the exemplary teachers of the WEE Center!

Among over 220 VPK teachers vying for the Apple Seeds for Literacy Teacher of the Year Award, sponsored by ECARE (Every Child a Reader) in Escambia County, two of the WEE Center teachers were recognized for excellence in teaching.

Lucinda (Lucy) Cresap was awarded tenth place for her participation in the competition.

Michelle Smith placed First Runner-Up!

Participants were treated to a sumptuous banquet and awards presentation held at the Crown Plaza Hotel Ballroom on June 8th.

*ECARE and the Apple Seeds for Literacy Teacher of the Year Award are supported by the United Way, Escambia County School Board, and the Early Learning Coalition of Escambia County.
